 Review, Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop
By: Sverre Sjøthun, November 1, 2002  Print this article

The Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop is a great combination of functionality, compatibility and style -- it has a very appealing design, and with the plethora of special feature buttons, it should provide plenty of options for even the most advanced users, whether you are on a Mac or Microsoft platform.

This combination is probably most suited for professionals in an office environment, IT related or other. It could also prove to be ideal in a meeting room, classroom or other situations where you want to move around whithout being restricted by the length of the cord. The mouse is very accurate, thus making it great for desktop publishers, designers and others with high demand for accuracy. The mouse is symmetric designed, so even if you're left-handed, you will not have any problems using it.

However, if you are an avid gamer, there might be better options available. Depending on your gaming style, some prefer the good old trackball mouse, whilst others swears by optical mice. I think this aspect is more of a personal preference and what you are used to than anything else. Personally, I think this is a fantastic product, and I highly recommend it.

- Wireless, doesn't clutter your desktop
- Design
- Functionality
- Compatibility

- F-Lock key not set to "on" at default
- No information on expected lifetime on batteries

Finally, I'd like to thank Stealth for providing me with this product.
